Neurodiversity Affirming Telehealth Therapy for Autistic & ADHD Adults in Tennessee

With a late-diagnosed AuDHD therapist who truly gets it.

Because understanding yourself changes everything.

If You’re Here...

You may have spent much of your life appearing more okay than you actually felt.

Maybe you became skilled at reading the room, anticipating what other people expected, managing your reactions, working harder than anyone realized, and finding ways to keep functioning even when you were overwhelmed.

From the outside, those adaptations may have looked like competence.

Internally, they may have felt like exhaustion.

Many autistic and ADHD adults spend years compensating so effectively that the effort itself becomes invisible — sometimes even to themselves.

You may have learned to dismiss your own needs because other people seemed to be managing.

You may have assumed that everyone was this tired.

Or you may have spent years wondering why you could accomplish difficult things while struggling enormously with things that seemed as though they should be simple.

There is often an explanation for that contradiction.

And understanding it can change the way you see yourself.

When Things Start Making Sense

You may be newly diagnosed, self-identified, questioning, or simply beginning to recognize patterns that you had never connected before.

The sensory sensitivity.
The masking.
The hyperfocus.
The shutdown.
The burnout.
The difficulty switching tasks.
The intensity of emotions or interests.
The need for recovery after social interaction.
The years of trying to become better at tolerating things that continued to overwhelm you.

When autism, ADHD, or both begin to provide a framework for those experiences, the past can start looking different.

Things you once interpreted as laziness, oversensitivity, inconsistency, weakness, or failure may begin making sense as the predictable result of how your nervous system processes the world.

For many people, that realization brings relief.

It can also bring grief, anger, confusion, and questions about who they might have been if they had understood themselves sooner.

All of that belongs in the conversation.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy in Tennessee

Therapy can become a place to explore those questions without pressure to arrive at a particular conclusion about yourself.

You do not have to prove that you are struggling enough.

You do not have to perform competence.

And you do not have to translate every experience into neurotypical language before it can be taken seriously.

Together, we may explore late identification, autistic burnout, ADHD-related executive functioning difficulties, masking, perfectionism, anxiety, trauma, sensory and emotional overwhelm, relationships and boundaries, chronic shame and self-blame, identity, and the process of developing greater self-trust.

This work is not about helping you become better at ignoring your needs.

It is about understanding those needs more accurately and learning how to build a life that respects them.

My Approach

I’m Christine Harris, LPCC, a licensed clinical therapist and late-diagnosed AuDHD (Autistic & ADHD) adult.

I created this practice to provide neurodivergent adults with a space grounded in curiosity, respect, collaboration, and genuine understanding.

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and informed by both professional training and lived experience.

I provide telehealth therapy to autistic and ADHD adults physically located in Tennessee at the time of sessions, in accordance with Tennessee practice requirements.

Sessions are held securely online, allowing therapy to happen from the environment where you are most comfortable and reducing the extra demands that commuting, waiting rooms, unfamiliar spaces, and sensory stress can create.

For adults who have spent years adapting themselves to meet other people’s expectations, therapy can become one of the few places where the goal is not to perform better.

The goal is to understand yourself more deeply, develop greater self-compassion and self-trust, and begin creating ways of living that are sustainable for the person you actually are.

An Invitation to Begin

If you are ready to understand yourself with more clarity, compassion, and context, you do not have to do that alone.
